Kings Of Leon, the American rock foursome from Tennessee, played at V Festival 2008 on the 16th of August.
The band’s early music was an upbeat blend of southern rock and blues influences but the band has gradually expanded their sound to include a variety of genres and a more alternative rock sound. They are now one of the most popular rock bands in the world, as over 6.2 million copies of their latest album “Only By the Night” were sold worldwide.
Kings of Leon performed at V2008 wearing black leather jackets and playing songs including ‘Charmer’, ‘Four Kicks’ and ‘On Call’, despite the English rain. The band’s frontman Caleb Followill got the crowd dancing and singing from the opening song till the last. Getting merrier towards the end, Caleb recognised his appreciation of the gathered crowd and said: “It wasn’t exactly the best day for weather but this goes down as one of my best shows…god bless you all.”
